    Materia Prima: Mad Preforma Music Video

    Materia Prima is an electronic Chilean musician. He performs with a custom midi DIY interface he named “La Jaiba” (The Crab) because of its shape.
    Mad Preforma is a live-recording of an improvisation in Materia Prima’s studio in Santiago. Rich and I chose this song because of its rhythmic complexity. When approaching the video, I focused on the rhythmic complexity. The song produced me an awkward feeling, a little bit of discomfort, so I wanted to reflect that feeling by creating a montage tightly tied to the rhythm and using only close ups of mouths and tongues.
