Overview

FIAN is an international human rights organization that has advocated for the realization of the right to food for more than 20 years.

They approached me to create an animated PSA as part of their Face It Act Now! campaign. This one was one of those cases where nothing was set, so I had to work closely with them to come up with a communicational strategy. This involved creating everything from the script, creating animatics to producing the piece from scratch.

The starting point for the script was statistical and sociological reports, pretty dry information. The biggest challenge was to translate that information into a fun animation piece. I developed the idea of using hands acting as visual narrators, interacting with an elastic color plane from where all things happened. The goal was to make it entertaining and dynamic while explaining in thirty seconds a very complicated subject, informing the audience about how the origin of the hunger problem.
